
Computer games are not only fun but also very educational. A new study shows that games can provide content in their own way versatile.
The media scholar John Brewer of the University of Hohenheim has researched the topic. Result of his “expertise playing a game” to learn? Games meet the learning habits of children, the large digital media have become.
“Computer and video players show skills and efforts of teachers who want their students,” says the study. Examples: Players stay focused for long periods of time. You can often endure frustration better. You want to improve their own skills. And: They face challenges that query which these skills.
The advantage of digital games: Unlike analog forms of gambling increases the difficulty for most games at more and more. Furthermore, studies show that there are also positive effects on visual perception, hand-eye coordination or spatial sense.
